Exciting news!!! Last night, at the National Book Award Ceremony in New York City, Jeffrey C. Stewart won the non-fiction prize for The New Negro: The Life of Alain Locke.
At one point in the evening, the award’s MC Nick Offerman said, "In our inexorable pursuit of freedom and human rights, books serve us as weapons and also as shields…They are perhaps the greatest creation of humankind."
