Spooky Reads

In case you're looking for some books to get you in the Halloween mood, here are a few we've loved! Husk by Corey Redekop (ECW Press, $18.95) This is the latest zombie book that is an absolute must-read for anyone with a strong stomach and a fascination with flesh eating. Unlike most undead stories you come across, this one is written from the perspective of the zombie!

The Diviners by Libba Bray (Little, Brown, $21.99) Although the author is mostly known for writing YA, this book about people with supernatural powers in 1920's New York definitely transcends the age genre and is spooky from the start! Best part: Libba will be in Toronto signing copies of the book in November!

V Wars edited by Jonathan Maberry (IDW Publishing, $24.99) Told in stories by eight different authors, V Wars chronicles the modern rise of vampires. By breaking  each story into parts and intermixing them, Maberry tells how the world is fascinated, terrified and finally overwhelmed by the discovery that vampires are, and always have been, real.

So enjoy your Halloween, enjoy these awesome books, and sleep tight (if you can)!
