Don Pyle is a musician and producer most in the world of punk would envy. The Toronto artist has made a name for himself over the past thirty years by photographing, producing and playing a slew of punk music of the highest calibre (he studied at Runnymede Collegiate Institute and has played with numerous punk bands) that instantly infects die hard fans, new listeners and innocent bystanders. As a producer he has worked with The Sadies, John Doe, The Two Koreas, Iggy Pop and photographed such iconic artists as Patti Smith, The Ugly, The Curse, Vibrators, The Diodes, The Viletones, The Ramones, Teenage Head, The Clash, David Bowie and Blondie. On May 04, 2011, the man formerly a part of Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet, will debut his book Trouble in the Camera Club: A Photographic Narrative of Toronto’s Punk History 1976-1980 and take us for a spin through his raw, moody, electric photographs of Toronto’s punk past. Expect the most and prepare for the best when The Ugly take the stage after Liz Worth’s inquisition.
