It was only last week that Donna Tartt won the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for THE GOLDFINCH and, though it may not be socially acceptable, we are still celebrating! The Pulitzer prize rewards "fiction by an American author, preferably dealing with American life, Ten thousand dollars ($10,000)." Here's the judges description of the novel:
Awarded to "The Goldfinch," by Donna Tartt (Little, Brown), a beautifully written coming-of-age novel with exquisitely drawn characters that follows a grieving boy’s entanglement with a small famous painting that has eluded destruction, a book that stimulates the mind and touches the heart.
